About Luminas Group

Two people, and a fairly narrow view of what AI is good for

We think most businesses are being sold a strategy when what they need is two hours back on a Tuesday. That shapes how we work.

Sam Jackson

Co-founder, technical lead

Sam holds a First-Class Honours degree in visual effects and spent years on Hollywood productions including Mission: Impossible 7 and 8. That work runs on pipelines where thousands of dependent steps have to complete correctly, on deadline, with no room to improvise — which turns out to be the same problem as automating a business process. He now builds the software side of what we recommend.

Adam Jackson

Co-founder, commercial lead

Adam is a former lawyer, published author and digital strategist who has worked at the intersection of business, law and technology since 1999. He spends his time translating what is technically possible into what is commercially worth doing, and telling clients plainly when something is not.

What we think

Most AI projects fail because someone buys software before working out what's actually slow. The tool arrives, nobody has time to learn it, and it quietly stops being used. We'd rather find the one job that eats a day a week and fix that.

We'll tell you when something isn't worth doing. That's easier for us than most — we don't discount the build if you go ahead, so we've no reason to talk you into one.
